Vineet Kumar IAS, Wokha Deputy Commissioner distributed certificates to 45 trainees who completed the Basic Skilling Training in Carpenter (Suthar/Badhai) under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at Government ITI, Wokha on August 12.
In his address, Vineet Kumar IAS emphasised the critical role of skill development in the economic growth of the Wokha district.
He encouraged the trainees to pursue self-employment opportunities by leveraging their newly acquired skills to start their own businesses, thereby contributing to their livelihoods and the broader economic development of the nation.
Nyanbemo Lotha, Principal In-Charge of ITI Wokha, warmly welcomed the dignitaries and trainees attending the event. He outlined the core objectives of the Vishwakarma Scheme, which include recognising artisans through the PM Vishwakarma Certificate.
The scheme offers both basic training of five to seven days and advanced training of 15 days or more. Additionally, trainees receive a stipend, a modern toolkit worth Rs 15,000 provided free of cost, as well as access to credit-based soft loans and marketing support to help them expand their businesses.
Anuranjan Singh, Project Manager of Shishoi Oshom-ETF, Wokha and Skill Development Consultant, also spoke at the event. He urged the trainees to fully utilise their skills for entrepreneurial ventures and to take advantage of the various schemes and policies offered by Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell, Wokha. He highlighted the importance of these initiatives in driving sustainable economic growth within the Wokha District.
Later, the trainees expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the ITI administration for the smooth and successful conduct of their training programmes and acknowledged the support that has set them on a path towards sustainable livelihoods and self-reliance.
