Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) executive board held a meeting in Dimapur on Saturday to discuss the growing trend of persecution against minority religious groups, particularly Christians, in the country. The main objective of the meeting was to assess the situation and to pray for a fair and free assembly election in the region, specifically in Nagaland.
According to a press release, after the discussions, the members decided to organize a prayer rally on February 19 at 1L00 pm around Super Market area, Dimapur. They called upon all churches in Dimapur and like-minded religious institutions and organizations to join in prayer for the persecuted minority religious groups, particularly Christians, in India, for the nation and its leaders, and for a fair and free election.
The members also discussed the need to pray for national workers and to create a common platform for all groups to come together in prayer. They proposed to help other districts of Nagaland in starting autonomous Christian Forums to strengthen unity and spiritual growth among the various communities.
The release stated that the meeting began with a prayer by Rev Kari Longchar, the advisor to CFD. In his welcome note, Rev Moses Murry stressed the importance of raising awareness about the issue and the need for prayer. Rev Dr Paphino, the Vice President of Joint Christian Forum and an advisor to CFD, highlighted the purpose of the meeting and thanked the Chairman for organizing it.
