
Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): The CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore will be organising a free five-day training programme on ‘Food Processing’ exclusively for entrepreneurs and exporters of Nagaland in Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre, Dimapur.
The training programme will be inaugurated by Nagaland APC Y Kikheto Sumi while the welcome remarks will be given by Sunita Rai, AGM, APEDA, Regional Office, Guwahati, a press release from the CSIR – CFTRI, Mysore informed. The programme will be coordinated by Taliwati Longchar, Joint Director, MSME Development Institute.
The release stated that the training programme has been organised for food manufacturers, exporters, and entrepreneurs in Nagaland under the title ‘Value addition to Fruits, Vegetables & Spices Processing.’ A total number of 32 shortlisted participants from Nagaland will undergo this training programme from November 15 to 19, it said, adding that the training is free of cost to all the participants sponsored by Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
The training programme will have a team of scientists from CFTRI, Mysore for conducting theory, practical and demonstration session for value addition to products from the locally grown fruits, vegetables and spices. The coordination for this training programme is being done by Dr Ng Iboyaima Singh, Chief Scientist, CSIR – CFTRI, Mysore.
