Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), Dimapur, conducted a cleanliness drive at the under-construction State Stadium premises in Dimapur on Thursday as part of the ongoing nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign.
According to an update received here, officers and staff of the Commissionerate participated in the drive and undertook voluntary labour to clean the public space.
Prior to the drive, the vast premises of the under-construction stadium were littered with large quantities of single-use plastic waste, including wrappers, polythene bags, disposable plates, cups and empty bottles, scattered across the open playing ground, pathways and shaded areas beneath trees.
Equipped with cleaning gear, the CGST Dimapur staff cleared waste from the open fields, pedestrian walkways and tree-shaded stretches, helping restore the cleanliness and hygienic condition of the sports complex.
The SHS 2026 campaign is being observed from September 17 to October 2 under the theme "Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat".
The campaign seeks to promote cleanliness, health and community responsibility, with the Dimapur drive highlighting efforts to clean neglected public spaces and civic infrastructure ahead of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary on October 2.
