Rev Dr Vevozo Khamo ministers during the dedication of the new church building of Chakhesang Christian Revival Church (CRC), Billy Graham–DBS Road, Kohima, on March 22.
Kohima, March 22 (MExN): The new church building of Chakhesang Christian Revival Church (CRC), Billy Graham–DBS Road, Kohima, was dedicated on Sunday during a solemn service held at the church premises.
The monolith stone unveiling was led by Rev Senuto Ringa, Executive Secretary, Nagaland Christian Revival Church Council Chakhesang (NCRCCC), while the dedicatory service was conducted by Rev Dr Vevozo Khamo, pastor of the church. A choral presentation was offered by the local congregation.
Delivering the sermon, Rev Zaseyi Veswuh, President of the NCRCCC, emphasised faith in God, citing Psalms 118:8–9.
He stated that while infrastructure is important, it is the lives of believers—marked by godly love, humility and faith—that truly reflect God’s glory.
He encouraged members to make the church a place of prayer, commitment and spiritual growth, and to seek God’s kingdom in their daily lives.
Highlighting the journey of the church, Veswuh noted that the building stands as a fulfilment of God’s promises, made possible through the sacrifices and contributions of its members. He urged the congregation to remain grateful and continue investing in God’s kingdom.
Pastor Sapi Puro, President of the Pastors and Deacons Association, CCRC, extended greetings and acknowledged the support of well-wishers and contributors towards the construction of the church.
Kropayi Dawhuo, Treasurer of the Church Development Board (CDB), shared the church’s history, stating that its foundation began with a meeting on October 12, 2014, followed by the first fellowship service on October 19 at the residence of Kuhusayi Nyekha.
The fellowship later shifted to various locations, including the residence of former minister Nieba Kronu and Kohima College, before moving into the new building. Initially recognised as a fellowship, the church was officially declared a full-fledged congregation on October 23, 2022, by Rev Z David Koza, the then Executive Secretary, NCRCCC.
The programme also included a welcome address by Lhoupekha Thasou, Chairman of the Church Development Board, scripture readings by pastors Müdokhoyi Tünyi and Ngopelo Koza, and special choral presentations by CCRC Upper PWD Kohima and CCRC Kohima.
The service was led by Church Advisor Kuhusayi Nyekha. The invocation prayer was offered by Rev Zhowhüyi Nyekha, Senior Pastor, CCRC Upper PWD Kohima, while the offertory prayer was said by Savino Thasou, Women Pastor.
