Kohima, January 10 (MExN): The Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches (CCRC) held a Golden Jubilee proclamation rally from Trinitarian Spot Gariphema, the birthplace of Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC) in Kohima district on January 9.
A press release from the Media and Publicity Committee, CCRC Golden Jubilee informed that the event was held in coinciding with NCRC Foundation Day and the rally was flagged-off by Rev Thekruzhü Khana, Pastor NCRC Gariphema in the morning and the day-long event culminated later in the evening at CCRC Mission Centre Chetheba in Phek district.
During the programme at Gariphema village, Rev Zhowhuyi Nyekha, Senior Pastor and Chairman Ordination Board CCRC in his speech recounted the movement of the Holy Spirit movement among the people and the formative years which the Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC) came into being on January 9, 1962.
A pioneer leader himself in revivalist movement, Rev Nyekha also highlighted briefly how the Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches also came into being and formed the council in 1973 which is celebrating its golden jubilee later this year.
Further, he maintained that the manifestation of the Holy Spirit movement has been doing miraculous things ever since its formation Gariphema village and ignited the people which is now spreading across the people and nations.
Meanwhile, Rev Thekruzhü Khana, Pastor NCRC Gariphema also reiterated to the participants and the congregation the manifestation of God’s work through the movement of the Holy Spirit amidst the darkest period of the Naga political movement and oppressions. He added the NCRC was formed through tears, prayers anointed by the Holy Spirit and exhorted the people to upkeep the tenets of faith.
A speech was delivered by Dr Chekhwuveyi Khusoh, Secretary, Organising Committee and extended invitation for participation during the main Jubilee event which will be held later in the month of September.
The programme was chaired by Rev Z David Koza, Executive Secretary, CCRC, a short speech was delivered by Chakhesang CRC Council Chairman, Vesatso Tetseo and special prayer for the jubilee and proclamation rally marks the morning event.
The participants of the rally later in the afternoon proceeded to NCRC Chesezu in Phek district the first Christian Revival Church among the Chakhesang, wherein the prayer service was led by Pastor Solhou Sono, Vice-Chairman, CCRCC and Rev a brief history of CCRC was presented by Rev Sanyi Nyekha.
Following which the rally proceeded to CCRC Mission Centre Chetheba and the rally flag was hosted by Rev Z David Koza, Executive Secretary, CCRC.
A culmination service was held, wherein Chakhesang CRC Council Chairman, Vesatso Tetseo gave a sharing and he highlighted the changes that Christianity has brought about in Nagaland and he added that Nagas as Christians are endowed with the responsibility for the extension of God’s kingdom and the good news of Jesus Christ in humility and in the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Further he challenged the participants to spread the love of Christ as a member of Christian Revival Church by igniting the movement of the Holy Spirit with devotion and dedication.
Meanwhile, Kühusayi Nyekha, Chairman Golden Jubilee Organising Committee have extended words of gratitude to the NCRC Gariphema for their solemn act of pronouncing parental blessings upon the Chakhesang CRC, hospitality, logistics and their kind act of generosity rendered towards the jubilee celebration; participants for enthusiastic participation for the daylong event, then CRC Billy Graham Road; Chesezu CRC and Mission Centre Chetheba for their logistic supports.
The programme was led by Rev Zaseyi Veswuh Pastor, invocation prayer was said by Rev Veshoseyi Rhakho, Advisor CCCRC.
