Chakhesang students’ anguished over NPSC delinquency

Kohima: The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) while reiterating its anguish over the repeated delinquency of the NPSC, counters the news item of The Morung Express of February 22, 2006, wherein, it stated that “The NPSC had mistakenly forwarded her mark overriding two other candidates whose marks were higher” as incorrect, as only one candidate was found to secured higher marks than Velule Tureng, after the evaluation.

Further, the Union rejoined the Editorial Note of The Morung Express on 23rd Feb. ’06 which stated that the mark difference between Velule Tureng and the other overridden candidate amounts to almost 100 marks was untrue as the mark difference detected was only 19 marks.

In the meantime, CSU president Vevoyi D. Vadeo alleged that “NPSC was willfully playing with the career of the Naga youth who are aspiring to serve the state and its people with vision and dedication is intolerable.”

“Appointment and subsequent cancellation of Velule Tureng, to the post of EAC by the NPSC amounts to serious breach of contract. The NPSC will be held singularly responsible for such an arbitrary act,“ Vadeo said.

Saying that such irregularities of the Commission are not the first of its kind, the CSU president strongly demand that “the system of the NPSC should be revamp to ensure that career of the upcoming Naga youth is not disfigured.”

He added that CSU will join the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) to wipe out the irregularities in the NPSC.

The unscrupulous action of the NPSC will not be compromised until justice is delivered, he added.
