Chakhesang wrestlers coaching camp underway in Kisama

Kisama, March 12 (MExN): Altogether 18 Chakhesang wrestlers are undergoing intensive coaching and conditioning camp at Kisama, Heritage Village for the upcoming 29th Nagaland Wrestling Championship scheduled on March 26. The coaching camp has been initiated by Chakhesang Wrestling Association starting from March 11. It will continue till March 26.

Vekhozo Ringa, President, Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA), said that the preparatory camp aims to bring the wrestlers together, train them as a team, and enhance their fitness for the competition. He expressed hope that the wrestlers would make the best use of the coaching camp in preparation for the championship.

Former Naga wrestling champions will impart their knowledge and guide the wrestlers during the camp. Chisazo Dawhuo will be the camp supervisor, with Vekhriyi Chuzho and Surhonieyi Soho as team coaches. The team physician is Dr Dietho Koza, Assistant Professor at NIMSR Kohima, and the team chaplain is David Chuzho, Associate Pastor at CBC (MH).

Earlier, to begin the coaching camp a short prayer fellowship was held on Tuesday evening by Team Chaplain David Chuzho, Associate Pastor at CBC (MH).

The selected wrestlers for Naga style include Venuzo Dawhou (Chokri Area), Vemele Thingo (Chokri), Rukukhoto Khesoh (Chozuba area), Huluyi D Vadeo (Secheku area), Kuneshoyo Zuo (Chozuba), Kuluvezo Soho (Phek), Cuhuta Theluo (Secheku), Rukulhu Phesao (Chozuba), Pfusato Tetseo (Chokri), Sao Vezuh (Phek), Vekhosazo Doso (Chozuba), Ruvezo D Vadeo (Secheku), Vevokho Ruho (Chokri), Thuputha Hesuh (Secheku), Huravo Vadeo (Secheku), Venu Vadeo (Chozuba), Serayi Tetseo (Phek), Besukhozo Resu (Chokri).
