The 28th wrestling championship 2022 of the Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) has been scheduled at Pfutsero Sports Complex in Phek District on February 10.
The championship will be hosted by Secheku Wrestling Association and managed by Sakraba Youth Organization.
Nagaland’s Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs minister Neiba Kronu will grace the inaugural function as the special guest and MLA Kezhienyi Khalo as guest of honour.
The champion for senior category will fetch a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh along with Lt. Chosanyi Rose Memorial Running Championship belt.
The second, third and fourth position will receive Rs1.50 lakh, Rs 1 lakh and Rs 80,000 respectively.
The losing quarterfinalists will also receive Rs 10,000 each.
For U-16 category, the champion will get Rs 30,000, followed by second with Rs 20,000, third Rs 15,000, 4th Rs 10,000.
The losing quarterfinalists will get Rs 5000 each.
The senior category will witness 60 wrestlers and 20 for Under-16 category.
Venuzo Dawhuo is the defending champion.
The referees for the championship includes Chisazo Dawhuo, Hükhoneyi Soho, Hiivesii Puro, Lhuvenü Phesao, Zehoto Kikhi, Keneingulie Nagi, Zacuta Puro, Pozoto Shijoh. Jury board includes Kope Kronu, Rüdasa Cürhah and Kukhoto Venyo.
