Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): The Wrestling and Volleyball Championship 2018 of Chakhroma Sports Association Group ‘C’ got underway this morning at New Chumukedima village with Tokuho Suhoi Neho, President, Dimapur District GBs Association gracing the inaugural ceremony as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said sports, around the world, play an integral part in the development and progress of the nation both economically and socially and therefore urged the people especially the youth to give importance to sports as co-curricular activity. He also called upon the youth to have moral obligation towards the society as the future of the society depends on the youth. All must contribute towards the well-being of the society by making use of one’s best ability be it in sports or any other field, he exhorted. Neho was of the view that no there is no dearth of talent among Naga youth and in this regard, urged local sports associations and government agency to formulate policies to train the Naga youth and exhibit their skills at national and international arena. He also encouraged the youth to be far-sighted and take steps which will help take the society forward in all aspect. The opening ceremony was chaired by Keneingukho Hama, general secretary, CSA ‘C’. Ngusazo Chatsu, pastor, New Chumukedima Baptist Church read a scripture from the Bible and offered invocation prayer. Vikhor Zhunyu, president, CSA ‘C’ delivered welcome address.
