The All Commercial Vehicle Owners' Association (ACVOA) has temporarily suspended its indefinite "Chakka Bandh" since November 3 after the office of the SP Mokokchung announced on Tuesday that the pending payment for vehicles services will start from November 8.
We will wait till 11AM tomorrow, an ACVOA member told The Morung Express Tuesday evening.
Earlier during the day, the office of the Superintendent of Police Mokokchung informed that the pending payment for vehicles requisitioned by Mokokchung Police during the election for the 14th Nagaland State Legislative Assembly will commence from 11 AM Wednesday.
In an official a circular, the office of the SP Mokokchung informed that the payment will be made in three days at the SP Office Mokokchung, starting from November 8 at 11 AM.
The first day will be allotted for taxi, bus, and private vehicle payments and dues of Tata Mobile/Truck/Pick up vehicles will be paid on November 9, it said.
For vehicles requisitioned from Assam, the allotted date of payment is November 10, it added.
On November 7, the Peren, Kiphire, and Phek district units of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) have decided to join the ongoing AVCOA's indefinite 'Chakka Bandh' from November 8. However, with the temporary suspension, they may not go ahead with the proposed bandh.
