The Challenger Cup 2014 (10th Men & 6th Women Open Basketball Championship under the aegis of Youth Aflame got underway here today at the Kohima Local Ground. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) general secretary Esther Rhakho.
Earlier, the inaugural function was chaired by Naheu Rao while welcome address was delivered by Namziu Thou.
In the first match of the day, Amplified Fitness Club defeated Mystic Ballers 54-28 while Cretans Bulls overpowered Sky Hooks 51-22 in the second match. Altogether, 10 men's teams and four women's teams are taking part in the tournament. It will go on till April 30.
