Lumami, April 27 (MExN): Nagaland University, the only Central University in the state, on April 27 opened applications for its newly introduced Four-Year Undergraduate Programme in Science at the Multi-Disciplinary Research Centre (MDRC), with the last date to apply being May 18, 2026.
The university is offering B.Sc. programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology and Botany, with an intake of 10 seats in each discipline. Applications can be submitted at www.admission.nagalanduniversity.ac.in.
The programmes are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and follow a Flexible Choice-Based Credit System (FCBS) offering multiple entry and exit options. Students can exit with a Certificate after one year, a Diploma after two years, a Bachelor's Degree after three years, or a Bachelor's Degree with Research after four years. The four-year research track provides eligibility for direct admission to PhD programmes as per applicable regulations.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik said the programmes offer “flexible exit options, a dedicated research track, and a truly multidisciplinary learning environment,” adding that the initiative reflects the university's commitment to academic innovation and research excellence.
Candidates who have secured 50% or more marks in Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board, including CBSE, ICSE, AHSEC and BSEB, are eligible to apply. Students appearing for their Class 12 examinations may also apply, subject to university rules.
The MDRC curriculum includes Core courses alongside Ability Enhancement Courses, Value Added Courses and Employability Enhancement Courses. Students will have access to advanced laboratories, technology-enabled learning spaces, digital platforms and the university's Central Library.
