DIMAPUR, JANUARY 12 (MExN): The Chang community of Dimapur celebrated ‘Puanglüm’ – a post-harvest festival - on Wednesday, January 12. Hosted at Duncan Basti, the celebration was graced by Member of Parliament CM Chang as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering the MP called upon the community to bear in mind the pioneers, those whose contribution and initiatives were responsible for the recognition they have gained today. He remarked that the Chang community is less in terms of population, yet he was fortunate enough to contest the elections and win as well; thereby, giving him the opportunity to represent not only the Chang people but Nagaland as a whole. He thus, called upon the community to continue cooperating with the government for the uplift of the society. He expressed gratefulness to the community for supporting him and further sought their support and cooperation in the days to come as well.
The festivity today was organised by the Chang Union Dimapur and sponsored by CM Chang.
