Changki Senso and VC respond to ‘open letter’

DIMAPUR, JUNE 27 (MExN): The Changki Senso and the Village Council have taken a serious view on the letter written by Imtajenba and Temjenmeren addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung appearing in the print media. Making it clear that there was no Action Committee under Changki Ayim Asem Mongdang (CAASM) and no committee under that name has been constituted, a joint statement issued by the Changki Senso President and Secretary and Chairman Village Council, Changki alleged that the sole purpose of the letter was to mislead the DC Mokokchung and the Naga public aimed at denigrating the good name of the Changki village, for which the village authority has decided to summon both of them to explain for their conduct.

The joint communiqué further made it clear that Emrem Changki Clan has forfeited their citizenship of Changki village by refusing to pay their citizenship fees and other village contributions for the last five years. “Hence they are no longer Changki citizens”, it was stated. “If anyone wants to know the village history of Changki we welcome them to come to our village, Changki and hear from us. Writing distorted news in the press media is not going to help Emrem Changki clan”, it stated.

It was also made clear that the Emrem Changki Clan being no longer Changki citizens, they cannot be represented as G.B of Changki village anymore as claimed by Imtajenba.
