Changki Students’ Union sports meet underway

Hekko, an indigenous game, being played during the Changki Kaketshüri Telongjem General Conference Cum Sports meet on Wednesday.

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 9 (MExN): The Changki Kaketshüri Telongjem (Changki Students’ Union) kicked off its biennial sports meets at Jumaba ground at Changki Village under Mokokchung District on Wednesday.


The Changki Kaketshüri Telongjem sports meet, being held coinciding with the union’s general conference, was kicked off by Dr Tiasunep Longchari, State Programme Officer (National TB Control Programme) as the special guest.


He encouraged the students to be active in sports, and urged them to learn from the example of footballing hero Dr T Ao.


Pro Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University SASRD, Medziphema Campus, Professor Lanusosang Anichari meanwhile called upon students to be wise while choosing their careers.


The four-day Changki Students’ Union General Conference cum Sports meet will witness indigenous games, five men soccer, basketball, badminton and intensive workshop on traditional pottery art, traditional attires and ornaments of Changki, hymnal competition etc.
