Charges on family massacre refuted

DIMAPUR, FEB 18 (MExN): The Pungro Area Public Forum under Kiphire district has refuted the news item based on the information provided by one TC Tajingki, the eldest son of Late Throngtsangki, Head GB of Zanger village wherein it was alleged that cadres of the NSCN (IM) were involved in the family massacre that took place on February 8 last. Tsipanki, President Pungro Area Public Forum in a clarification note stated that the forum “is the leaders of innocent public of Pungro area including that of Zanger village”. As such it pointed out that involvement of the NSCN (IM) Yimchunger region as claimed by TC Tajingki was totally false and fabricated. “In reality National workers NSCN (IM) should not be implicated or invited by such confused person like TC Tajingki, Information Assistant, Kiphire. Further the Pungro Public Forum stated that the reasons for the killings were best known by the villagers and the close area public “but not by the outsiders who stayed away from Pungro area”. “Over all, the YTC the apex body of Yimchunger tribe of Nagaland is to see and look after problems faced by its own people and no one to be blame out of his/her frustration”, the clarification stated.

Meanwhile, also clarifying that the allegation made by TC Tajingki on Lumthure UDA SDO civil Office Pungro and his family members in connection with the killings of his family members is absolutely false and baseless, Lumthure’s UDA SDO (c) Office along with family members Pungro informed that on that day, February 8, the DB’s court Pungro summoned the case as per the petition filed by one LT.TC Kimuse Retired Teacher, but not Lumthure as alleged by Tajingki.

“On that day, the family members from both sides were in the court, when the case was going on. In the mid-hour of the case, the mob of public came and overpowered the DB’s court Pungro and took away his family members from the court. Before leaving, the deceased and the mob were seen discussing very peacefully outside the court premises and they all agreed to go along with them. The mob had pronounced in front of hundreds of people around there that they had come to take them to their village to discuss some important village issue and said that there was no connection related over the case between our two families”, the statement issued clarified.

It further stated that the allegation made by TC .Tajingki and Kiusam Area GB’s Association that Lumthure UDA SDO Civil Office Pungro and family members along with Tsulimthong and Alo of Yimchungru Region NSCN (IM) cadres kidnapped and tortured mercilessly and killed them, was also totally false. We have no connection with the Cadres in the case. They did not appear nor were seen during the summoned hour around the court premises, the statement clarified.

As such the statement declared that they had no knowledge and involvement over the killing of TC Tajingki’s family members.
