Chathe Dazzlers win 3rd Women’s Champions Trophy 2024

Sovima, May 21 (MExN): The Chathe Dazzlers emerged as the champions of the 3rd Edition Women’s Champions Trophy after defeating Tizu Warriors in the final held at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, on May 20.

Batting first, the Dazzlers scored a formidable total of 150 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, with Najmeen leading the charge with 51 runs off 69 balls and Vipeni Awomi contributing 38 runs.

In reply, the Warriors’ innings ended at 113 runs despite a commendable unbeaten 51 runs by Elina Muru, falling 37 runs short of the Dazzlers’ total. 

Awomi was named the ‘Player of the Match’ for her outstanding all-round performance of 38 runs and a spell of 3/18, leading the Dazzlers to victory.

Ayieno Kechü, Media Secretary to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, graced the closing ceremony and honoured the participants and winners. 

In a press release, the Nagaland Cricket Association expressed appreciation to all the teams, players, coaches, and supporters for making this tournament a success and further sought their continued support.

Best Batter: Najmeen Khatun (Chathe Dazzlers)- 201 runs.
Best Bowler: Priyanka Karmakar (Zungki Slingers) - 7 wickets in 3 matches
Best Wicket Keeper: Jyoti Thapa (Dikhu Strikers)
