Chavara Home celebrates International Women’s Day

DIMAPUR, MARCH 9 (MExN): The Chavara Home Community Care centre celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 8 at Naharbari, Dimapur. The President of Army Wives Association (AWA) was the main Chief Guest .The programme started with a prayer song.  The chief guest inaugurated the women’s day celebration by lighting the lamp. A good number of Women folk from the neighboring places participated in the programme. A press note stated that the day’s programme was started at 10:00 am with various competitions like Musical chair, cock fighting, crossing the Jordan etc.

The Chief Guest in her message told the women folk that ‘we should be proud of being a woman.” She stated that women can “play multiple roles in molding the society.” She encouraged the women by saying that women should work hard and should not be lazy. The winners of the various competitions prizes were awarded by her.

Bhargava in her message requested the women to be healthy and keep a clean environment to live in. Captian Dr Manisha and her team provided free medical check up and medicines. She called upon the women folk to live a healthy life and to bring forth a healthy society. She stated that a healthy mother gives birth to a healthy child who can contribute to build a healthy society.
