Chiechama Village Youth Org celebrates golden jubilee

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today graced the golden jubilee celebration of Chiechama Village Youth Organization (CVYO) at Chiechama village under Kohima district.

Speaking on the occasion, Rio complimented CVYO for reaching 50 glorious years and saluted the visionary approach and invaluable contributions of the pioneers. Asking the CVYO to introspect its past deeds and achievements through this celebration, he challenged them to broaden their vision and horizon to march with the competitive world.

He warned against the pitfalls of a lack of responsibility in a democratic society, leading to a detrimental shift towards mobocracy. Rio also called upon CVYO to continue to spread the message of peace and unity amongst the community for all round development.

Stating that Chiechama is the largest village in the Northern Angami-II range, Rio urged upon them to play a pivotal role in bridging the gaps and guide other villages for inclusive growth and progress.

Acknowledging Chiechama as his ancestral village, Rio recognized the village's historical significance as a pioneer in embracing Christianity, fostering spiritual growth in neighboring communities.

Further, the CM called for unity of the Northern Angami range to serve as inspiration for all Naga people, emphasizing its role in garnering respect in governmental and political spheres.

CVYO President, Delie Metha said that Chiechama village consists of eight khel and CVYO was formed in 1973. He thanked each and every individual for their unflinching support and assistance towards the grand celebration of the golden jubilee. Metha also acknowledged CVYO pioneers for their hard work and sacrifices in forming the organization, which was earlier known as Chiechama Youth Society and later changed the nomenclature to CVYO.

Chiechama Village Council member, Neitso Sogotsu expressed joy at reaching this milestone, extending gratitude to Rio for continuous support. Sogotsu urged the youth to prosper through the jubilee celebration and contribute to the village's growth.

CVYO former president Vikholie Rio thanked the gathering for joining the golden jubilee celebration and recognized the pioneers for their vision and contributions.

Earlier, CRC Chiechama pastor Rev. Levi Rio and Chiechama Baptist Church pastor Rev Soneiu Metha prayed for the programme. The programme was chaired by Golden Jubilee organizing committee convenor Neizolie Riipreo.

The evening session was marked by musical performances from Ara Chiechama, Moko Koza, Keneiletuo Metha, Asenuo Metha and Mengu Suokhrie.

CVYO general secretary Duoneilie Daniel Dzeyie proposed vote of thanks while Neiketou Metsieo, Associate Pastor, Chiechama Basa Baptist Church pronounced benediction.

Nagaland’s women resource development & horticulture minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse, school education & SCERT advisor Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, MLAs Kevipodi Sophie and Dr.  Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso (Dr Ato) also joined the celebration.
