Tuensang: If a press statement issued by the Educated Unemployed Union of Nagaland, Tuensang Unit (EUUTD) is to be believed, the Chief Engineer (CE), PHED, Nagaland went red-faced when pointed out the facts relating to the non-implementation of the use of Ductile Iron pipes towards Gravity water supply to Tuensang town.
“It is for general awareness of all Nagas to look into the real picture so as to know the workings and subsequent misconduct of the PHED which has come into play without following the actual estimate and proposals approved by the Central Government for implementation of water supply by Ductile Iron pipes covering a distance of 28.6 kilometres on Border road from C/Saddle to Tuensang Town,” the release said.
The CE tried to hoodwink the Tuensang public and swindle the money sanctioned for the said pipes, according to the EUUTD. Further, the unemployed union has stated that the answers given by the CE in his meeting with NGOs and public leaders on the issue were not at all satisfactory Queries put forward by the EUUTD to the Chief Engineer.
• When it (implementation of the use of DI pipes) is highly successful in other hill states of India, why on earth is it not possible in Nagaland?
• Why give childish explanations when you say that loading and unloading would cause damage?
• Are we not going to be supplied by the same DI pipes installed with the same machineries as other hill states and countries?
