Kohima, October 11 (MExN): All the Child Care Institutions, Orphanages homes, any Institutions or Organization which are “wholly or partially housing Children in Need of Care and Protection” are directed to register under the Juvenile Justice Act, at the State Child Protection Society, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland.
The registration, to be done mandatorily on or before the December 31, is in compliance to section 41 (1) of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, informed in an official notification from Secretary DSW & Chairman, SCPS OT Chingmak Chang IAS.
“Failing to comply with the provisions of the JJ Act, the institutions shall be punished as per Section 42 of the Act with imprisonment which may extend to one year or a fine of not less than one lakh rupees or both,” it said.
