Participants of the observation of International Literacy Day on September 8 in Tobu.

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): The Child Protection Committee, Tobu Village in collaboration with Development Association of Nagaland commemorated International Literacy Day by conducting a literary competition for the students of GMS and GPS on September 8 at Community Hall, Tobu Village.
A total of 30 participants from GMS and GPS competed in poem recitation, painting and quiz competitions. The cash prize for the literary events were sponsored by and Andrew Chongo and P Metchai. The prizes for the winners and participants were sponsored by Development Association of Nagaland, Dimapur.
Earlier, a short programme was held to mark International Literacy Day in presence of Tobu Village Council, Tobu Village Students’ Union, Women Society, Teaching Faculties of Government Schools, DAN & CPC Tobu.
The Programme was chaired by Davidson Ngushu, Secretary CPC. BT Langmai pronounced invocation which was followed by welcome address from Chairman CPC. Y. Khangnyu P/T GMS enlightened the gathering by throwing light on the pressing issues related to literacy and called upon all sections of society in eradicating illiteracy. The programme ended with benediction by Neangbo, CPC member.
