Kohima | June 11

Chümoukedima and Kohima district today emerged the champion title of the State Level Pre- Subroto cum Junior Football Tournament 2024 for U-15 Boys and U-17 Girls category respectively.

In U-15 Boys finals, Chümoukedima represented by SFS Higher Secondary School Chümoukedima emerged the champion title after defeating Peren, represented by Govt High School, Bongkolong.

Laimninlen Thangeo connected a solitary goal for winning team Chümoukedima in the dying minute of the match.

Nagaland’s Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang also witnessed the final match along with host of legislators.     

Wokha stood 3rd place after defeating Kiphire 2-1.

Mharen C Jami connected the first goal for Wokha while C Zuben Ezung added another goal for the team.

Lumlemong connected a solitary goal for Kiphire.

Kohima lifted the champion title of U-17 Girls after defeating Noklak 3-0 in finals.

Kohima district was represented by Govt High School Meriema while Noklak was represented by Govt Higher Secondary School Noklak.

Rokothono Thami, Khuloi P and Yangyea Konyak contributed a goal each for winning team Kohima.

Chümoukedima stood third position after overpowering Zunheboto 3-0.

Nunevino, Chongneiting Sinson and Chongholhing Guite connected a goal each for Chümoukedima.

The champion of Boys team will represent Nagaland at Bangalore and girl team Chümoukedima Delhi in the forthcoming Subroto Mukherjee Cup in the later part of July this year.

At the closing ceremony, Nagaland’s Law & Justice and Land Revenue advisor T.N. Mannen gave away prize to the winners.

The Tournament was jointly organised by Department of Youth Resources & Sports and Nagaland Football Association at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima.

Nagaland’s youth resources and sports director Kethosituo Sekhose chaired the closing ceremony while vote of thanks was proposed by Megolhu Dolie, additional director, Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland.
