Chozuba area leaders to submit memo to MoRTH regarding road project

Chozuba, October 8 (MExN): A developmental meeting of Chozuba area was held on October 5 at Vamuzo Memorial Hall, Chozuba.

According to a press statement from Puyoi Nyekha, president, Chozuba Area Public Organization (CAPO), the house resolved to submit a memorandum to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Government of India (GoI) to appoint consultancy for surveying the NH-202 (A), which was notified by the GoI Vide Notification No. S.O. 2837 (E) Dated, New Delhi, the 7th November 2014 for the construction of the said NH from Mokokchung to Meluri via Chozuba, Runguzu Old village, Thuvopisu, Phek to Meluri. The area leaders further extended welcome to the MoRTH for the said survey at the earliest.  

In regards to the ongoing SARDP two-lane road construction from Chakhabama to Zunheboto via Chozuba undertaken by Maytas & Gayatri, which has been put on halt for years causing public inconveniences, the house resolved to approach the MoRTH for immediate resumption of the construction works.  

The meeting further resolved to urge the GoI to compensate the landowners affected by the SARDP road construction by directing the MoRTH to take up the matter with the Government of Nagaland without further delay in order to create a congenial atmosphere between the government and the locals.  

The house also made decision to extend fullest support to the Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya for recommending to declare Ruzazho Village (the first INA administered village) as ‘National Heritage Village’.  

Dr. Er. Vekho Swuro, State Laison Officer, Nagaland House, New Delhi, who was present at the meeting, was endorsed to pursue the above matters with the Ministry and Minister(s) concerned on behalf of the people of the area, the release added. It was informed that the next round of developmental meeting will be held in a short period of time.
