Christian High School Longleng celebrates silver jubilee

LONGLENG, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The Christian High School Longleng observed its 25 years silver jubilee on November 5 at the school hall with M Shayung Phom, NCS, Deputy Commissioner, Longleng as special guest and Nzambemo Ngullie, Assistant District Education Officer (ADEO) as guest of honour.

The DC in his speech greeted the gathering on behalf of district administration and congratulated the institution for successfully completing 25 years. 

Nzambemo Ngullie, ADESO meanwhile encouraged the parents, students and teachers to share responsibility in catching up with new programmes and policies of the National Education Policy which focuses more on activities and skill development. 

N Chingpong Phom, Proprietor, Christian High School Longleng, gave a review of 25 years of the high school stating that the school was established in 1996 with the motto ‘Learn and Shine.’

Despite the lack of proper infrastructure and teaching equipments, the school began to show signs of steady progress through sheer will and cooperation. With an overall enrollment of 20 students and only two teachers—Aola (1996-1997) and Atila (1996-1999)—the high school went through rough initial years. He thanked God for keeping them well through the battles and making the 25 years of existence a possibility. 

A special prayer for the school was pronounced by Tialemba, Executive Secretary, PBCA. Exhortation speech was delivered by Tenchem, former board member, alumni members and Ponghok Phom, board member. Rev Beau, Pastor, LTBC blessed the programme with an invocation prayer.

Longleng delivered the benediction. The programme was chaired by H Chongtok and Lidau H Phom.
