In so far as Christianity in Nagaland is concerned Molungkimong is the first village to embrace the Christianity with the baptism of nine (9) Youngmen on 10th November 1872 by Rev. Edward Clark in the presence of Godhula (an assamese convert). However, in Ghokimi village, Christianity landed for the first time in 1906 when Ivulho Shohe, S/o Tulapu Shohe embraced the Christianity and baptized by Rev. H.B. Dickson (ABMU) the first American missionary to Semas. It was said that Ivulho Shohe was actually converted to Christianity way back to 1900 through Rev. Dr. SW Rivenberg. After having proved his strong faith and capability he was baptized only in 1906 by the American missionaries with an eye for sending him to preach the gospel amongst the Semas and was conferred ordained Pastor. After 56 years of abandoning pagan way of life, the Revival came into being on 8th November 1962, through the then Matron Vitoli Wotsa by name.
The wave of the Revival started pouring in early as 1958 which came from the Northern Angami Village known as Gariphema (Nethopumi in Sema). Nevertheless, formal accord was obtained when an understanding was reached between the Revivalist and the opposing groups to propagate the Revival doctrines of belief and worship in the local church. Even after this accord there was stiff resistance and antagonism from all side including Naga Underground, Federal Government. Despite a great tribulation and physical infliction afflicted on the Revivalist, the omnipotent and loving God uphold the Revivalist.
Thus, taking cognition of the 1962 accord Revival Silver Jubilee was celebrated in 1987. In attainment of 50 years with Christ and in giving our homage and thanks to almighty God, we the Ghokimi believers will celebrate the Revival Golden Jubilee by re-dedicating ourselves with a commitment to strive for his Kingdom till he comes from heaven with a shout of trumpet.
