Chuba Chang lashes out at College Principal

Kohima: Parliamentary Secretary, Art and Culture, Evaluation and Economics and Statistics P Chuba Chang has spoken out on irregularities and shortages of the Sao Chang College, Tuensang which is believed to be the premier educational institute and the only Government College in Tuensang district. While thanking Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Higher Education Minister Shurhozelie for introducing Science stream in the said college, Chuba has asked of the latter to intervene in matters relating to anomalies in the functioning of the college. The Parliamentary Secretary has apprised of his recent two day surprise visits to the college on August 31 and September 1 where he was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of the district, Civil SDO, Chairman and Deputy Chairman, Tuensang Town Council and his party workers. 

After holding interactions with the college faculty and the student leaders of the college, Chuba has stated that he had assured to extend his fullest co-operation in streamlining and highlighting their grievances to the concerned department authorities. 
The irregularities and shortages of Sao Chang College as highlighted by Chuba Chang:

•    Some lecturers are found irregular in running the classes on the pretext/reasons best known to them. Some lecturers are found to be outstation for months together without any valid reasons and as a result this affects the normal studies of the students.

•     Some lecturers had been transferred from the College without replacements. Thus, The College needs immediate posting of lecturers.

•       The department had sanctioned Rs 35 lakhs for purchase of Science equipment, material and chemicals. On proper inquiry, it is learnt that the Principal of the College, Imchayanger Ao had supplied orders to four firms out of which materials from only two firms has reached the college so far. 

The supply materials and chemicals from the other two suppliers are yet to reach the College till date while the Principal has released the bill to all the suppliers in full for the reason beat known to the Principal. The Principal is reportedly on four months earned leave.
