Chümoukedima Town Cultural Nite promotes art & culture

Dimapur, February 3 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Town Cultural Nite 2019, a district level programme was held on February 2 at Chümoukedima Town Council Hall, Chümoukedima Dimapur under the theme ‘Promotion of Art & Culture.’ It was organised by Altrura Society (AuS) in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dimapur, Chümoukedima Town Council and Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town.


A press release stated here that in his introductory address, Phyobemo Lotha DYC, NYK Dimapur spoke on the view to encourage and cultivate rich cultural values among the youths in India. He urged the youths to preserve and promote our rich cultures with the rest of the country.


Thejavizo Nakhro EAC & Administrator Chümoukedima Town Council in his welcome address lauded the Altrura Society and co-partners for organizing the event. He encouraged young artists to popularize traditions and take part in the art and cultural activities.


Razouvotuo Chatsu, Chairman Chümoukedima Village shared a brief history on ‘A journey of Chümoukedima Town towards Multiculturalism.’

He stressed on the importance of promotion of art and culture in order to facilitate understanding and appreciated their art and cultural aspects and explore the fraternal links with one another in preserving and promoting the same.


Several cultural troops like Angami, Ao, Sumi, Lotha, Phom, Kuki, Yimchunger, Sangtam, Rengma, Kachari and Chakhesang performed during the cultural session.


The programmed was chaired by Zakiesielie Chüsi Member AuS, invocation was pronounced by Pastor Kenyi Tep (RBCC), vote of thanks was proposed by Visakuolie Medom President AuS, while benediction was said by Pastor K Akhum (YBBC).


More than 250 delegates from in and around Chümoukedima Villages, besides guests and elders from different tribes attended the programme.
