Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): The Hills Area Development Organization (HADO), the development wing of the Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjem (KBBB) has organized its campaign on Good Governance and Economic Development at Aboi Town Baptist Church for Aboi and Angjangyang Blocks on September 11.
HADO Director, A Peihwang Wangsa in a press release stated that as a result of the programme it was resolved that: workshop on Good Governance and Economic Development shall be conducted in grassroot level in every village jointly organized by the local Churches and Village Councils; and it is also resolved that every community shall plan to conduct social audit on VDB fund and implementation of all communitized committees as to maintain transparency and accountability. Any community conducted the Social Audit shall report to the HADO as to set as model for other villages.
The seminar was participated by the Village Council Chairmen, Head GBs, VDB Secretaries, Pastors, Women and Youth representatives from 17 communities. The Deputy Commissioner Mon Angau I Thou spoke on the role of Village Council and Economic Development, while A. Peihwang Wangsa brought challenging message in his keynote address, and Yamao BDO had shared the brief on government programs and schemes for rural development. Session 1 moderated by Wennyei HADO staff, opened with welcome address from Rev. Wano Pastor, Aboi Town Baptist Church and closed with thanksgiving prayer by Sheipa Pastor of Ngangching Baptist Church. Session 2 moderated by Lemtong Project Coordinator, HADO had a fruitful discussion on practical issues in Village governance and implementation of development programs.
