CIH Nagaland holds webinar on protected cultivation of high value vegetables

Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): As a part of ongoing campaign on Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari Campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Nagaland organized a webinar on ‘awareness programme on improved production technology of high value & exotic vegetable crops under protected cultivation’ on April 28.

A press release from the CIH stated that the webinar covered technologies related to protected cultivation of high value vegetables and hydroponics for small and marginal farmersto create awareness on production technology and the prospects of cultivating exotic and high value vegetables under protected cultivation.

Dr Naveen Patle, Additional Commissioner, DA&FW and Director in-charge, CIH,in his introductory remark welcomed all the participants and resource persons to the programme, he also highlighted on the activities of CIH and stressed on the importance and potential of cultivation of high value crops under protected cultivation in NER. The invited resource persons were Dr Anand Zambre, Executive Director NCPAH and Dr. Praveen Singh, Hydroponics Professional, The Khedibadi Wala.

Dr Anand Zambre, delivered presentation on Vegetable Production Technology under Protected Cultivation with special reference to North-Eastern Region, and Dr Praveen Singh delivered his presentation on Production Technologies of Exotic vegetables through Hydroponics.

A total of about 450 participants comprising of farmers led by state horticulture officers, KVK extension functionaries, SHGs, FPOs and entrepreneurs from all Northeast states participated and virtually interacted with the expert.
