CKS, Tuensang community unions warns of consequences

DIMAPUR: The Chang Khulei Setsang (CKS) in a joint meeting on September 23 with the Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC), Khiamniugan Tribal council (KTC), United Sangtam Likhum Bhumji (USLB) and leaders from the Ao, Phom and Sumi communities in Tuensang Town has adopted certain resolution in regard to various problems faced by the people of Tuensang.

According to a press statement issued by I Akhum Soted Chang, Secretary Information and Publicity, the joint meeting resolved that if any person (s), factions from any tribe is found serving threat letter(s) to the tribal leaders of Tuensang he/she would be seriously dealt with and that if any faction/person(s) is found guilty or accused of attempting on the life of tribal leaders or to the citizens of Tuensang without any rhyme or reason, the particular group(s) or individual would face consequences from the general public of Tuensang.

The meeting also condemned the September 15 incident near Silonijan where Peter Yimchunger, a social worker was killed by the bodyguards of the ADC (J) and assaulting the handyman (who later succumbed to his injuries) as well as other passengers. 
The meeting unanimously resolved to support the Memorandum of the Tuensang and Mon Public Organization (TMPO) submitted to the Government of Nagaland. 

The joint meeting also urged the state government to dismiss the officer from active services immediately.
