DIMAPUR, JULY 8 (MExN): Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Village Guards, CL John has expressed sorrow over the passing of Late Manwai Awang, former MLA on July 7 at Aboi town.
In a condolence message, CL John said Late Manwai Awang, who hails from Chaoha Chingnyu Village, had represented 48 Mukha Assembly Constituency and was elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in the year 1977. Prior to him joining active politics, he served as Regional Council Member from the year 1969 to 1973, and at the same time, served in various civil societies under different capacities.
During his lifetime, Late Awang proved himself to be a sincere, hardworking and bonafide citizen as well as a competent public leader who served the public with integrity, accountability and vast wisdom, the condolence message read.
The minister has expressing deepest sympathy to the bereaved family during this hour of grief with prayer to grant peace and solace to the departed soul.
