With reference to the news item “NWC recommends inquiry committees” in a local daily (not The Morung Express) dated 17th May 2009, recommendations for Zunheboto. The first paragraph started with following words: ‘on the basis of the observations and the information that has come to the notice of the inquiry committee’, here we wish to know that:
1. On the basis of whose observations and the information that came from which source did the inquiry committee framed the recommendations as our side of story has never been asked by any party.
2. On the basis of whose information did the STH filed FIR on 14th April 2009 reporting that we are all rapists and wanted us to be arrested and punished? Because to the best of our knowledge till this day none from STH (South Point Colony), STH (Zunheboto), STH (Nagaland) or NWC has interviewed us (Aloto/Mughaho and Thoro) to tell our side of the story therefore the sincerity of STH/NWC in finding the truth and to act accordingly stands questionable.
On 17th April 2009 at the Police Station, Police casually asked only one of us to relate about the incident, then forwarded all of us to the court and upon arrival at the court we were handcuffed and thrown to jail without any trial or warrant. Now without a single valid proof as support we are charged and booked under IPC’s as criminal conspirators and abettors which is totally false and without an iota of truth.
Based on the charge sheet framed by the Police, the NWC in their recommendations for Zunheboto case at serial no.6 wanted us punished and demands termination of our service, but be it known to one and all, the truth will one day prevail and all who are responsible for charging us without any inquiry or reason holds the responsibility for not only assassinating our characters but to the extend of an attempt to terminate our very source of livelihood.
It is hard to understand or accept the injustice being meted out upon us without any mistake of ours, we are discriminated and our basic rights dishonoured.
Be it filing FIR to arrest someone for framing recommendations for award of penalty, if it is done without any investigation (let along proper) it is parity to perpetrating a crime. Our sincere request to all concerned is that a proper impartial inquiry be conducted leaving no room for assumption, prejudice and injustice, thereby delivering full justice to all.
