Tuensang, October 26 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has served a four-day ultimatum to Nagaland’s Higher Education Department to “clarify and rectify the disbursement of Scholarship on installment basis.”
“Failure to do so, the Union will take its own course of action without any hesitation,” stated the Media Cell of the ENCSU in a press release today.
The ENCSU mentioned that the Department and the Government has “failed to come up with the copy of directive issued by the Central Ministry as claimed by the Director.” Therefore, the ENCSU asked the two to “disclose the Directive in the media within 4 days so that the Nagas in general and the student’s community in particular can accept the clarification issued by the Department and will cooperate in the process.”
Further, the Union pointed out that as per their information, some of students are yet to receive the first quarter installment even after the admission for next semester is on process in many colleges. The ENCSU wondered how “such a game” can be “played by the Department and the Government with the students’ community.”
Reiterating the ENCSU is the “custodian of the students community” and “will stand firmly to safeguards the interest of the students,” the Union asked the students’ community to be “mentally and physically prepared to face any eventuality.”
