Kohima, December 17 (MExN): In continuation of its earlier notification, the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on Wednesday informed about actions following a police investigation into a paper leak for the Class IX (Phase-II) examinations.
The Board stated that the investigation report, received on December 16, 2025, found the leaked question papers were circulated among a closed group of 14 students from eight different schools in Dimapur.
Based on the findings of the investigation, the examinations of all students involved in the malpractice have been cancelled. The Board will separately communicate with the Heads of the Institutions whose students are found to be involved in the said malpractice and necessary action shall be initiated, it stated in a notification.
The investigation further revealed that the modus operandi and the primary source of the paper leakage originated from PM Shri Government High School, Burma Camp, Dimapur. Consequently, the examination centre for Classes VIII and IX at PM Shri Government High School, Burma Camp, Dimapur, stands withdrawn with immediate effect, the board stated.
Further, the Board has announced a revised schedule for result entry. The portal for main result entry for Class IX will be activated with effect from December 17 till 19, 2025. The portal for entering retest results will function from December 20, 2025 to January 21, 2026. For Class VIII, the retest result entry portal will be operational from December 19, 2025 to January 21, 2026.
The Secretary & Chairperson (Addl Charge), Ranguming Nsarangbe has directed all heads of registered institutions to take appropriate action in this extraordinary situation.
