Mokokchung, March 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Baptist Church Council in collaboration with the District Administration Mokokchung held an interaction and fellowship programme on the Clean Election Movement at the DC Conference Hall, Mokokchung on March 26.
In his introductory address, Rev Dr Mar Pongener, General Secretary, NBCC, stated that the programme aimed to provide a platform for dialogue and partnership on the Clean Election Movement. He said the initiative seeks to address challenges associated with elections in Nagaland and to engage stakeholders including voters, leaders, civil society and institutions.
Dr Villo Naleo, Secretary, Social Concern Department, NBCC, presented on the history, objectives and strategies of the movement.
Deputy Commissioner and DEO Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, stated that the initiative can contribute towards a clean, fair and peaceful election process. He said laws serve as preventive measures and that change requires participation from all stakeholders.
Rev Temsu Jamir, Executive Secretary, ABAM, stated that the message of the movement will impact society.
The programme was chaired by Bideno Kikon, Secretary, Christian Education Department, NBCC, and the benediction was led by Katoli V Sumi, Secretary, Women Department, NBCC.
