Citizens join cleanliness drive at Chizami village where cleaning of each surroundings, segregation of waste and cleaning of village footpaths etc. were done.
Kohima, April 23 (MExN): Commemorating World Earth Day and in lieu with Clean Chizami Campaign, the Chizami Students' Union (CSU) today undertook a cleanliness drive at Chizami village under Phek district.
It was held collaboration with Chizami Women Society, Chizami Youth Society, WATSAN Committee and representatives from 6 Khels/colony.
Nearly 200 citizens joined this cleanliness drive where cleaning of each surroundings, segregation of waste and cleaning of village footpaths etc. were done.
CSU President, Khrolhiweu Tsuhah shared that 'Every small action matters and partnership is key'. “Let us all come together and invest in our planet inclusively,” she said.
CSU Media Secretary, Menule Chirhah stated that “The theme for Earth Day 2022 being “Invest in Our Planet”, we at CSU believe doing our bit is of equal importance through a collective effort.”
“While there is still time to address the climate catastrophe, we should choose both a successful and sustainable future, restore nature and build a healthy planet for our children and their generations to come,” CSU stated.
