Governor’s message on Red Cross Day
Kohima, May 7 (MExN): Governor K Sankaranarayanan has said that the Red Cross movement has been in the forefront towards humanitarian service while expressing appreciation for the concern and commitment of the Nagaland state branch of Indian Red Cross Society towards this goal.
In his greeting message, on the eve of World Red Cross Day which is being held under the theme ‘Your World, our move: Come together for climate change’, the Governor termed the theme as the most appropriate and befitting because “climate change is a serious global concern today”.
“With human activities like the greenhouse effect, land use, fossil fuel, gases, pollution, etc. there is immense threat to the climatic condition of the world that we live in,” the Governor stated, adding that catastrophes can be prevented by restricting adverse human activities against nature. Sankaranarayanan also expressed confidence that the observation will usher in awareness and a “call for pro-active role to prevent climate change”.
