CM to present Nagaland budget on March 22

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who also holds the finance portfolio will present the Nagaland state budget for year 2022-2023 on March 22 during 11th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima.

According to the provisional programme issued by NLA Secretariat, the 11th session of the NLA will commence from March 19.

The first day of the session will be addressed by Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi. Election of Deputy Speaker, NLA will also take place on the same day.

The proceedings for March 21 will include question hour, laying of Annual Administrative Reports, Laying of Reports/Rules, presentation of Assembly Committee Reports, introduction of Government bills and debate and adoption of the motion of thanks to the Governor's Address.

Apart from budget presentation on March 22, the House will also witness laying of annual administrative reports, consideration and passing of government bills, presentation of supplementary demand for grants for the year 2021-2022, presentation of C&AG Reports, discussion on matters of urgent public importance and introduction of government resolutions, if any.

Following a recess on March 23, the next day’s proceedings will witness laying of annual administrative reports, presentation of assembly committee reports, consideration and adoption of government resolutions, discussion and voting on the supplementary demand for grants for the year 2021-2022, introduction, consideration and passing of the Nagaland Appropriation (No. 1) Bill, 2022 (Supplementary 2021-2022), general discussion on the budget.

The schedule for March 25 includes; laying of annual administrative reports, discussion and voting on the demand for grants for the year 2022-2023, introduction, consideration and passing of the Nagaland Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2022 (Budget 2022-2023), announcement of the Constitution of various Financial and Non-Financial Committees of the Assembly and the Panel of Chairmen for the year 2022- 2023, by the Speaker and adjournment of the session sine-die.
