CMHSS marks anniversary with health camp for students, Impur community

Mokokchung, April 11 (MExN): A health camp was organised for the students and the community of Impur in commemoration of 150 years of Christianity in Nagaland and the 127th anniversary of the Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, Impur on April 11.

The health camp was sponsored by the Lt Dr I Longrizüng Trust, a press release from the School Principal Chubainla informed on Monday. 

Speaking during a short programme held before the health camp, Mefütiba, Director of the Trust stated that Lt Dr I Longrizüng was an alumnus of CMHSS and served the Government for 33 years. He was dedicated to uplifting the needy and was committed to serving the people throughout his life at any cost and the ‘Dr I Longrizüng Trust’ is a continuation of his social service rendered during his life on earth with the motto ‘To share what we have.’  

Since its inception, two awards have been instituted in Fazl Ali College Mokokchung, one each for the Arts and Science stream for the best students, and a scholarship of Rs 40, 000 for any aspiring individual from Longkhum village pursuing MBBS.

As per the release, Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, ABAM, in his short exhortation, stated that this was the first instance in the history of the school to have such a Health Camp for both the students, staff and the Impur community; and remarked this health camp was a timely organized. Based on Psalms 118:23, he termed this event as a boon of the Lord’s leading hand in which we are the privileged beneficiaries. 

Meanwhile, the CMHSS expressed gratitude to Dr Theja, ENT Specialist; Dr Renchamo, Eye Specialist; Dr Limanaro; Dr Sentienla; Dr Obangjungla, and their assistants for their selfless service, as well as the sponsor family for the opportunity given to the school and Impur community. 

Altogether 311 patients were given medical treatment with proper medicines, the release stated.
