Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) under Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur, in collaboration with the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA), organised an awareness programme on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, or the POSH Act, on May 7.
During the event, resource person and Panel Lawyer of DDLSA, Zuchumbeni Ngullie, sensitised the staff under CMO Dimapur on the POSH Act and said that the law is designed to prevent and address sexual harassment in the workplace. It aims to create a safe and respectful work environment by providing a mechanism for the redressal of complaints and ensuring that workplaces are free from sexual harassment, she noted. She also highlighted various components of the Act and the roles of the ICC.
Another resource person and Retainer of DDLSA, Sonile Seb, shared key aspects of victim compensation under the POSH Act 2013. The Presiding Officer of ICC, CMO Office Dimapur, Rongsennungla, DPO (UIP/RCH), chaired the event.
