Imphal | November 5
Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on November 5 announced that it will continue its ongoing "alert campaign" in connection with the Naga peace talks.
Addressing a press conference at AIMS office, Imphal, COCOMI alleged that no positive response came forth even after the expiry of the deadline it had set for the disclosure of the details of the "agreement" that was reached between the Centre and Naga groups.
COCOMI had set November 4 as deadline to the Centre to disclose the "agreed points" of the Naga peace talks to the public on or before November 4.
"The Centre is keeping the 'agreed points' secret and the state government is unable to provide the same to the COCOMI and to the people of the state", COCOMI coordinator Sunil Karam said, adding, "This has increased the apprehension of the people".
COCOMI has been pressing the Centre to disclose the "agreed points" of the peace talks.
Sunil Karam then appealed to the people to continue the "alert protest" at their respective localities. COCOMI appealed the people to come out on the night of November 7 and 8 on the streets in their respective localities with torches in their hands and chant slogans to safeguard the territorial integrity of the state.
