College of Arts and Tech 1st Pridora Fest

A four day long 1st Pridora Fest 2022 of College of Arts and Technology (CAT), Nerhe-Phezha made a colourful start on September 27 at the college premises.

CAT is the first college under Chiephobozou sub division of Kohima district. Nerhe Phezha is located about 18 km from Nagaland’s state capital Kohima.

Gracing this cultural day billed as ‘Homage to cultural varieties,’ Alemyapang Longchar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Chiephobozou lauded the college and the managing board for incorporating such event in this 1st Pridora Fest 2022. He encouraged the students to take advantage of the platform and also take pride with the rich and vibrant culture of the Nagas. Longchar maintained that Nagas have been blessed with a rich cultural heritage.

Also talking about the rich culture of the tribal festivals, he said that Nagas has noble habits of honesty, hospitality etc, which has been passed on to us from forefathers. Also talking on different culture of the world, he said “Just blindly following other cultures sometime create confusion in the society.”

Earlier, Rev. Dr. Tseibu Rutsa, chairman  Educational Visionary Forum (EVF) invoked God blessings while welcome address was delivered by Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, chairman managing board, EVF.

Nerhema Students’ Union (NSU) presented folk song as special appearance.

Day one event was marked by traditional fusion show, folk song, folklore, folkdance, play and traditional fire making. Sungjemmenla Longkumer, Assistant Professor compered day one event while vote of thanks was proposed by Zuthungbeni, Assistant Professor.

Meanwhile, literary day with the theme “Reach within: Discover the possibilities” will take place on September 28 from 10:30 AM onwards.

The event will be marked by debate, speech, solo, quiz, dance, story and photography.

Meanwhile, the Annual Sports Meet of the college have been scheduled for September 29 and 30 with the theme’ Greater together.”

Col. Rohit Jakhar, Commandant, 45th Assam Rifles, Chieswema will grace the occasion as the special guest from 10:30 AM onwards on September 29.

Welcome address will be delivered by CAT principal Dr Chingpai Lily. Valedictory address will delivered by CAT Academic Dean Aosenla Longchar on September 30.
