Combined schools in Seyochung struggle with space

Seyochung Village Students' Union visited Government High School, Seyochung village as part of their regular monthly visit.

Kiphire, May 8 (MExN): The Seyochung Village Students' Union (SVSU) visited Government High School, Seyochung village as part of their regular monthly visit.

A press release received here stated that during the visit, the school faculty shared their concerns. They said that since the Government Primary School (GPS), Government Middle School (GMS), and Government High School (GHS) have been combined into one, the school is facing a shortage of classrooms.

The three schools are located in different areas with quite a distance between them. Currently, all classes are being held at the Government Middle School, which is proving to be difficult due to limited space.

The union also observed that despite regular visits, some teachers are still not attending school. Union President Longtili C Sangtam warned that strict action will be taken if this continues. He stated that the union will report the teachers’ attendance to higher authorities and take further steps based on their response. The union, however, expressed gratitude to the teachers who are regularly performing their duties despite the lack of proper facilities.
