
Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): The department related parliamentary committee on industry under the chairmanship of Tiruchi Siva, Member of Parliament from Tamil Nadu visited Kohima on June 19, 2013 to make an appraisal of the implementation of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the State in particular and Northeast in general. A press release issued by the Assistant General Manager, Regional Business Office, State Bank of India Dimapur informed that the committee reviewed the revival of Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company Ltd. at Tuli with officials of State government, central ministries and SBI.
The committee shared the view that reviving the Company will be a positive indication towards investment in the State. Further, it stated that the committee’s visit is being seen as an effort to reach out to the people of the State and to appreciate their aspirations for development. Meanwhile, the committee assured the State government and its people that parliament is aware of their expectations, and efforts are being made to address them through developmental schemes. Seventeen members of the committee took part in the intensive deliberations.
