Community managed training centre opens in Satakha

Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), Rural Development (RD) has inaugurated the Community Managed Training Centre (CMTC) in Satakha on August 11.

It was launched in solidarity with the State Government in celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence “Azad ka Amrit Mahotsav” from July 1-August 14, informed a press release from Tolika Sema, Block Program Manager, BMMU Satakha.

The main objective of the CMTC is a centre of learning owned, managed and run by the women of the SHG’s Federation, it said. Speaking after virtually inaugurating the event, the Jt. Secretary RD and Mission Director NSRLM, mtimenla stated that CMTC at Satakha is the first of its kind in Nagaland which is being managed by the community.

She further encouraged the members to set an example moulding and live as a model and learning sites for other districts, the release said.

Kughali Murru President of Sapheni Block Level Federation highlighted about the progress and also the vision and aspirations of the Federation while objectives and genesis of the CMTC was shared by Vika Yepthomi ADPM, DMMU Zunheboto. The virtual programme was attended by the officials from SMMU, BDO-cum-BMM Satakha, district and block staffs, and Executive Committee members of Sapheni BLF and ended with an Exhibition of various indigenous products, the release added.
