Kohima, September 28 (MExN): Following the requisition of all 110 assistant professors/librarian posts in the department of Higher Education to the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), the All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) has called on the commission to conduct examinations for all the posts without delay.
A statement from the ANCSU on Monday stated that out of the total 110 posts, 68 were created for the year 2018-2019 and 42 for 2019-2020 as per the Cabinet Secretariat’s office memorandum dated July 5, 2018. However, the same could not be requisitioned to NPSC for advertisement.
Subsequently, 63 posts were requisitioned on July 9, 2019 and the NPSC advertised the same on November 13, 2019.
Additionally, five posts created for Colleges of Teachers Education were proposed for conversion/review/exchange, for which a written assurance to requisition the posts after clearance from the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department was given to the ANCSU on September 9, 2020, it stated. The remaining 42 posts have been requisitioned to NPSC on the September 3, 2020, it added.
As such, ANCSU acknowledged the present-day government “for paying sincere ears to the voice of the student community” and the department of Higher Education for positively responding to the union’s popular demand.
It also appealed the NPSC to “comprehend the urgent need of teaching faculty in various government colleges and conduct the exams for the 110 Assistant Professors/Librarian at one go without further delay.”
