Cong allegation against Parl Secy ‘false, unfounded’

Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): Thepusayi Nienu, the PS to the Parliamentary Secretary, Social Welfare and Women Development (SW&WD) has responded to the allegations made against the Parliamentary Secretary by the Opposition Congress on November 23, 2012.

According to the rejoinder, Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) is an integral component of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) for maternal and child malnutrition for which the state avails yearly budgetary allocations and the supply of which is awarded to societies.

“It is evident in all the Anganwadi centres that nutritious food is provided to the children and to allege that the societies have siphoned off the money is totally false and unfounded. Any society that is deemed fit is eligible to assist the government in procuring materials for reaching to the targeted group”, the press note from the PS stated.

It also stated that the Congress statement was also “indicative of character assassination of Chotisuh Sazo Parliamentary Secretary (SW&WD) as they have prefixed C for Chotisuh of CK Enterprises”. “Let the Congress give evidence of how C stands for Chotisuh in CK Enterprises”. Further it was stated that the allegation that Kudechoyi is the PS to Parliamentary Secretary SW&WD is incorrect and “let the Congress prove how he is the PS to the latter”.

On the award of 690 Anganwadi shed constructions to CK Enterprises as alleged by the Congress Party, the press note termed this as false and pointed out that the Congress appeared to be not in sync with day to day happenings. “The tender for construction of Anganwadi sheds has been floated in all the leading dailies of the state for Mon, Tuensang, Kiphiri and Longleng districts and accordingly, shed constructions have been awarded to competent and eligible contractors by the Chief Engineer, Housing Department”, it was stated.

It welcomed all the constructive criticisms but not in the manner in which the Congress Party has hurled unwanted accusations to the Parliamentary Secretary, SW&WD.
