Campaign kick-off programme for Er Meshenlo Kath, Congress candidate from 9th Kohima Town AC was held at Congress Bhavan, Kohima on February 14.
Speaking at the programme, Khriedi Theünuo, working president NPCC maintained that Congress party is obligated to the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi whose support and contribution has brought the statehood to Nagaland.
Reiterating that Congress stands for freedom of religion and safe guarding of minorities, Theünuo affirmed that Congress party has always stood for the Nagas and also preserving its rights. He appealed to all the like-minded citizens to come forward in order bring good governance in the state.
Er Meshenlo Kath has called upon all the young people to join hands with Congress to bring solution rather than complaining in social media platforms.
Furthermore, he stated matter of fact-ly that he wants to be in the opposition and play the role of an active opposition to raise question to the government of the day and held the government accountable. “As such a strong opposition is needed to check the policies and governance of the day,” Kath stated.
Highlighting in brief the vision of the party, he said Congress manifesto focused in the youth empowerment and it is providing 0℅ loan to students for higher studies.
